All I can say, is bring back May. June hit me head on with a myriad of medical issues, some i am still recovering from. I finally received the confirmation from the Mayo Clinic that I have been looking for and am also getting ready for a follow up with my disability claim. It is a process. We do have a few new things coming to the blog/website. The first and probably the newest will my our Small Town Spotlight. We are going to try to do a weekly Spotlight on a small business. Let me know if there is a specific question that you'us to ask or if there is a business that you would like us to spotlight. Stay tuned....Always more to come!!

Is May over yet.....

I feel like it's been ages since I was able to sit down at my computer and put down some thoughts. May has been a pretty rough month so far. Is it over yet? It has definitely been a busy month, that's for sure. Most Direct Sales companies switch gears from winter/spring to summer as the end of April draws near and May wakes up the spring flowers and captures the songbirds in the morning sunshine. It hasn't been that serene on this end. We've had quite a few things going on in our house since spring has turned into summer rather quickly and left the pollen explosion in it's wake. I've made quite a few trips to the ER this month as I still battle the unknown cause of the swelling. Hopefully soon. This past weekend found me again at the ER with a bout of food poisoning. My ribs and surrounding muscles are still recovering from the exhausting task of dry heaving. But, I am on the mend as things finally seem to creep back to normal and then I look at the calendar...........what? it's almost month end, the a new month begins and we start all over again.........Oh my!!

This is the last week of school for us here. Actually, Thursday is the last day. Proms have taken place and for some for the very last time. Graduations are happening, colleges are being decided upon and summer is so close you can smell it. But, if you are in Direct Sales, two of the most hated "J" words in the English language are fast approaching....J U N E and J U L Y. Families are headed to Grandma's house or to the beach for some R&R or maybe both. You won't check your email or your FB account quite as often and your favorite consultant is now sad and lonely.....longing for an answer to that impromptu email and maybe just the smallest of orders.

Remember that you can take them and US with you. As our Gift Guide continues to grow, you will find your favorite products are just a few clicks away on the handy, dandy cell phone. We've put them all in one place so that with just a few simple clicks - your best and most favorite products are headed your way.........no matter where that is.

Now is a great time to sign up for the Sample of the Month Club(s) - samples are a great way to travel and most are TSA compliant. The next round of samples will go out during that first week of June, so you've got plenty of time. Oh, and be sure to share the clubs with your friends - that way you don't have to share your samples!!!

Good Morning

Well, we seem to have most of the bugs worked out of the blog and are getting the hang of it.  Now, it's finding the time every day to sit down and keep all of you up to date with everything.  I had a doctor's appointment yesterday.  It is amazing how  many different opinions one can get from each doctor.  It's like putting a color in the middle of a circle of 100 people.  Not everyone will see the same color.  The same goes for the diagnosis of the swelling of my feet and legs.  Immediately, everyone of them suggests congestive heart failure and they all run the same tests and get the same result - negative.  Then  ultrasounds and other scans ensue.  All with the same result - negative for whatever they are looking for.  They can all tell me what is NOT the cause, but so far no one can tell  me what IS the cause.  Meanwhile, the swelling continues, the pain continues and I am out of work because I promise you these feet will not fit into any shoes that will allow me to work - nevermind standing for any period of time.  So, it's another new doctor - more blood work on Monday and back to square one.  He seems to think that my thyroid medication may need an adjustment and that I may be diabetic, both of which will cause the fluid retention and the swelling.  I will just be happy to find out the cause and get a relief.   Anyway - happy Friday!!!  Have a great weekend.  Do something fun and send some quality time with your loved ones!

Random Acts of Kindness

It's hard to believe that April is almost over and May is just around the corner. But, before we put April to bed there are still some important things we need to take care of. One of them is National Random Acts of Kindness Day, Sunday, April 29th. Random Acts of Kindness. What is that? What does that look like? What does it mean to you or does it mean anything? Do you think about it or is it spontaneous? Is it on display, done for all to see or is it just between you and the recipient - a quiet moment where no words are spoken because none are needed. Random Acts of Kindness. A ripple effects on the face of humanity. Play your part! Surprise someone. Who knows, maybe the surprise will be all yours.

Checking in on April Fool's Day

Hey y'all - hope your weekend was a good one.  Mine found me a little under the weather with a linger stomach virus that refuses to give up.  Playing around with the blog a little and working on  the website.  Learning where things should go (and where they shouldn't).  Loading, unloading and yes, sometimes reloading content takes up a lot of  my time.  But, I promise I will get this.

As for April Fool's Day.....I wish this bug we keep passing around to each other was a joke, but I am afraid the joke is on us.  No one is laughing, no!

I am working on the Holiday Gift Guide or the Business Directory as some like to call it.  It's great to see the support for each other.  Other than the stomach bug, not much to report.  Take it easy and see you soon.  Have a great week!!

Finally............

It has taken some time, but I am finally bringing blog and website together.  I am excited about our new shopping section as well as our mentoring , networking and marketing sections.  They really are coming, I promise.  I truly believe that EMPOWERED women EMPOWER women.  It's okay to to help another fix her crown without ever letting the whole world know that it was ever crooked.  Think about that one and come back often to be encouraged and empowered.  Much love and success to all who happen to read these words once in  your lifetime or once daily or anywhere in between.
